Women’s Personal Safety

A Woman’s Guide to Personal Safety, a unique and proactive 300+ slide program and book. Over 15,000 women, educators, health and law enforcement professionals have participated in the program. The program has been presented at numerous state and national conferences and has recently been selected for presentation at the 13′th National Youth Crime Prevention Conference in Atlanta. In the past few years, several studies have focused attention on the serious and devastating aspects of crimes against women. Here is what they said:

1994 Issues and Practices Report
of the US Department of Justice

  • concluded “Rape prevention education may be the most crucial element in confronting rape as a society.”

American Psychological Association Survey 1998 found that:

  • 10-25% of young women between the
    ages of 15-24 will be victims of rape or attempted rape.
  • 1 in 10 high school students will
    experience physical violence from someone they are dating.

National Institute of Justice & The Centers for Disease Control & Prevention Survey 1998
found that:

  • 22% of those surveyed were under
    12 when first raped.
  • 32% were 12-17 years old when
    first raped.
  • 3 million women are victims of
    domestic violence each year,Conclusion:
  • Rape should be viewed as a crime
    against youth
  • Violence against women should be
    treated as a significant social problem.

program offers young women with safety tips about dating,
dangers of drugs and alcohol, travel safety, living on campus or
away from home and general alertness.

selected for showing at the 13th National Youth Crime Prevention

A. The 6+ hour training program
will assist teaching professionals to implement the 305+ slide
program.
